Rich Media Experience

As well as supporting traditional media, the object oriented design of NetEnable allows the dynamic use of rich media like Flash or Flex. For example, If a designer wanted to create a number of flash banners for various areas of the site and have a set of those banners load randomly with a weighted probability - the process is straight forward, simply insert the Random Media component into the default Site Skin and set a couple of config elements, attach the flash banner files into the Object Library and the system will randomly choose a flash file based on which part of the site is being viewed.

Dynamic Device Support

Site Skins can be fully CSS driven. When combined with reusable component Site Skin Management it is straightforward to service multiple devices (web browsers, kiosk, accessibility devices, mobile devices, printers, etc.) from either a single dynamic site skin (used when the content does not change based on the device) or through multiple assignable site skins (used when the content itself is changed based on the rendering device).

Accessibility

NetEnable adheres to both the W3C WIA ATAC and ARIA accessibility guidelines for content authoring and accessible rich internet applications. The system can deliver content that meets the WC3 WCAG Priority 1 (A), Priority 2 (AA) and Priority 3 (AAA) requirements.

NetEnable provides for creating web sites that are W3C WIA A AA AAA accessible. With regard to AAA accessibility, while NetEnable does not rely on any technologies that inhibit achieving this objective, some underlying platforms may have limitations. The NetEnable NXT advanced editor has substantial functionailty to enable Authors to easily create accessible content.

The content editor user interface is designed with accessibility and usability in mind.  Attention has been paid to menus, shortcut keys and even the tab order in dialog boxes.  Most features can be accessed by traditional menus, right clicking, short cut keys or clicking on an icon.  The right click is context sensitive and will serve up a list of controls that are relevant to what the user is editing at that time.
