Standards Compliant Site and Document Metadata
NetEnable provides for the creation of standards-compliant metadata, including AGLS, VERS, Dublin Core and user definable metadata rendering. NetEnable manages mandatory and optional Metadata fields and provides for auto-population as well as the use of controlled vocabularies and pick lists.
Metadata is configured through the appropriate components of the system, (see table below). Document specific metadata is then automatically created, or where requiring user input, is entered through the document information tabs.
Metadata Modification
NetEnable provides relevant user groups with an easy to use interface for changing and modifying metadata fields (including global changes). Metadata is controlled by multiple components which relevant user groups have access to, (see table below).
Types of Metadata | |
---|---|
Fixed Metadata | Metadata that is imbedded at the site skin level and applied to all site components. |
Default Metadata (Site Wide) | Metadata keywords defined at an organisational level through Department Keywords in the Admin Database. Will appear on every document. |
Categories: (Predefined Pick-List) | Selected by the user from a pick list within the metadata section of the document. The pick list is maintained within the Content Library. Usually specific to a particular business unit. These values are set within the Content Library > Configuration > Keywords as System Keywords. |
Document Specific Keywords: (User Definable) | Metadata keywords defined by an individual user at the time of creation of the document. Usually specific to a particular document. |
AGLS Specific Metadata | AGLS specifically defines the term Publisher and Creator. These are normally the Business Unit and the Department respectively. These values are set within the Content Library > Configuration > Keywords as AGLS Publisher and AGLS Creator. |
